Frequently Asked Roller Shade Questions:

A roller shade arrived good and has been installed for a couple weeks. Out of nowhere, the shade now has creases. What could have caused this?

Answer: Excessive exposure to high temperatures can cause fabric to become pliable and crease. This is particularly true for fabrics with an acrylic coating, which is used for our room-darkening shades.
We see this most frequently with room-darkening roller shades that have been left in the 'up' position (rolled around the tube) in a location with excessive heat.

How to address: Lay flat or roll up tightly. For severe creases, try laying the shade flat on a clean surface. Place a thin fabric sheet (bed sheet) over the shade, use a low/medium heat setting and move the iron gradually across the wrinkled area with a little pressure. If using a steamer, put on a lower setting and be careful with the pressure and time. Avoid excessive heat as it can damage the fabric. Do NOT use a heat gun.

If it is a new shade that has creases, it can be due to shipping or storage in the summer heat.
